Who we are.
MSA is an East London based architectural practice that was founded in June 2018.
The Studio was formed by Marlene Swinney following many years of working in architectural practices both in Europe and South Africa, including serving as a director of TJ Architects for 5 years.
Marlene is a SAIA & SACAP registered Professional Architect with over 29 years’ experience.
Marlene served as President of the Border-Kei Institute of Architects from 2016-2017, and as a member of the National SAIA board from 2018-2019.
She has also recently presented CPD accredited courses on Health Facility Planning through the Border-Kei Institute of Architects including:
-Introduction to Hospital Planning
-Planning of Emergency Centres and Outpatients Department.
Her research on Materials and Finishes in Healthcare facilities has formed part of the CSIR-IUSS Health Facility Guides which were gazetted in April 2014.
